THINGS TO DO

There are many things to do while staying with us at Diss Hill Farm, including absolutely nothing if that’s what you prefer.

You can look out the windows or sit on the deck and see the beautiful rolling hills for miles intercepted by the West River. Watch the horses grazing in the field or enjoying the “visitors” from their paddock by the horse barn. Stroll through the wooded paths and stop to read a book under the trees that grow above the soft moss. You will probably have the company of the one or more of the cats and dogs that live here. You are welcome to bring your pet on vacation here with you. Our boarding stable can accommodate your horses if you are here for the horse races or an equine event.

There are numerous golf courses in the area. The Clyde River Golf course is a short walk away or about a two minute drive. Enjoy an early morning round of golf before or after you have your morning coffee on the upper or lower deck. Relax in the large hot tub and look out over the spectacular view or turn on the television in the hot tub room to catch up on the news or your favorite program.

In the evening (or on a cool day) we will light the fireplace and you can sit in the rocking chair by the fire or maybe join us at the outdoor campfire to toast marshmallows. Maybe you would like to go shopping, go to the theater to see one of the great musicals or have dinner at one of the many dining rooms. Charlottetown is only fifteen minutes away. The town of Cornwall is about a three-minute drive and you can visit the small mall which includes a supermarket, liquor store and Tim Hortons along with other small businesses. Close to the mall there is a pharmacy and gift shop.

Cavendish Beach

The famous Cavendish beach and Anne of Green Gables is a 30-minute drive from Diss Hill Farm through the beautiful P.E.I. countryside. You can also enjoy the many public beaches close by on the south shore (Northumberland Strait) which are accessible in about a ten-fifteen minute drive.

There is a washer and dryer available (or an outdoor clothesline) on the premises, a large barbeque and fully equipped kitchen to meet your “at home” needs. Colour satellite television with DVD and VCR.

Wireless internet available. Phone in the office next door on the same level on request for short time use.

Enjoy the unique experience of attending a Ceilidh which has become a very popular event in P.E.I. and can be found in one of the local communities every night of the week during the summer .

You are welcome to pick fresh vegetables from our garden to enjoy when you are cooking your meals. We always have plenty to share with our guests.
